Frequently Asked Questions
Do both sessions have to be on the same day?
No. Most schools take them on two separate afternoons a few weeks apart, which gives staff time to absorb the first before the second. If an INSET day suits you better we can run them back to back. Just let us know what you need.
How many staff can attend?
As many as you like from your school, at no extra cost. Bring teaching assistants, pastoral and office staff because they field as many period questions as anyone.
Do the same people have to come to both?
Ideally, but it is not a rule. Send whoever is free. Certificates go to everyone who attends, for whichever sessions they attend.
Online or in person?
Most schools take it online over Teams or Zoom because it is easier to get everyone in one room after school. In person is available and is included in the private session options we offer. Just let us know you would like in-person training.
Do we really get the materials to run it ourselves?
Yes. That is the point of the training rather than a bonus attached to it. You leave able to plan and deliver your own pupil sessions, and to keep running them in future years without us.
Are you CPD accredited?
No, and we would rather be straight with you. There is no regulator of CPD in England and schools decide for themselves what counts. Everyone attending gets a certificate of attendance stating the date, hours and content covered, which is what a CPD record needs.
What about period products for the sessions?
Most schools use their own stock. If you would like a sample pack of reusable products so students can take something home to try, we can supply one and will cost it separately.
Can you run a session for our parents too?
Yes. We deliver a 45–60 minute session for parents on disposable and reusable period products, what is available through school, how they work and how to care for them. Ask us and we will quote. We can also adapt the Understanding the Menstrual Cycle session for parents too.
Can you come and teach the pupils?
We can. We deliver pupil sessions ourselves where a school would prefer it, with your staff present in a supporting role. Training your own team costs less over time, but if this year you simply need it done, just let us know and we can book you in.
Is it suitable for SEND settings?
Yes, and we adapt. Tell us about your learners when you book and we will shape the sessions and the materials around them.
